Cary Grant - A Short Biography

On January 18th of 1904, Cary Grant was brought into this world in Horfield, Bristol with a birth name of Archibald Alexander Leach. His childhood was to be considered average for that of a middle class family in the UK, but at the age of 9, tragedy stuck his family as his mother become mentally ill and had to be institutionalized. At the age of 14, he would leave school in order to join up with a troupe of comedians led by Bob Pender.

While in this troupe he developed a number of useful entertainment skills which included acrobatics as well as pantomime. With the Pender comedy troupe,las tecnolog铆as cada vez complicado, he got to see most of England but he felt as if his destiny laid in America. As luck would have it, he was selected as one of seven of the troupe's boys to go to Broadway to perform Good Times. This musical played for more then 450 performances.

Tired of the Broadway scene and wanting something more,Wi-Fi-Kompatibilit盲t Technologien, he left the troupe and made his way out to California. After changing his name to Cary Grant, he got himself a screen test with the Paramount studios and was chosen for a part in the movie This is the Night. The movie was released a year later in 1932.

Thanks to Mae West, over the next year Cary would appear in two more films, She Done Him Wrong and I'm No Angel,die Sie wirklich wahrscheinlich zu verschenken, but his big break would not actually come along until 1935 when he co-stared along side of Katherine Hepburn in the movie entitled Sylvia Scarlett. This was finally the real break Cary Grant had been looking for.

Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn made a perfect duo so it was no coincidence that many of his future movies featured the two of them together. In 1937 his Paramount Pictures contract had expired and he chose to be independent rather then under a contract allowing him to chose the movies he would play in. Thanks to this move,When you are ready to stop playing the Guru's games and Start making some real money, he was able to create some of the best comedy movies ever, along side of Katherine.

It was when Cary turned 62 that he chose to retire from the films. He left the industry to live his life and to be a father as well as a husband. Although on screen he was definitely a charmer, off screen was a different story as he was married 5 times. The memories of his classical comedies live on in the hearts of many people today even after his death. It was November of 1986 that Cary Grant would pass away from a stroke leaving his only daughter and 5th wife behind.
